The Lee County Alliance for the Arts is literally beginning a new era as the official organization for the arts and culture in Lee County. We are planning a campus beautification and enrichment program that will signal to all that the process has begun. Not only will the physical appearance of our facility become more pleasing and prominent, but the services that we provide to the community, our members, the artists and the patrons of the Alliance will be revamped, revised, enhanced and expanded upon.
This revitalization comes from a rejuvenated and invigorated Board of Directors, a new CEO / Executive Director and a renewed commitment by the staff of the Alliance.
It is our desire to promote the arts as an integral component of the high quality of life that is offered here in Southwest Florida. Our plans include a community outreach program to bring more of our services and facility’s use to under privileged and at-risk children. More involvement in “Art in Public Places” beginning with the Art in Flight program at the new air terminal at the Southwest Florida Regional Airport. A high desire to collaborate and cooperate with other art and cultural centers in Lee County such as the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Ft. Myers, the Harlem Heights Cultural Center in South Lee County and the Art League of Bonita Springs just to name a few.
Many of the programs and services we hope to add will not happen overnight, but, with a renewed commitment from our business, civic and government leaders we can make this the reality that is so deserved by all the citizens of Lee County Florida.
