News about Member Artists


Uri BergerMember Artist Uri Berger is very active in the local art community. Not only will his work show at the Alliance during the 2D3D All Florida Juried Art Exhibition, but he's also a part of the first show in a new gallery opening on Friday, May 18th at Marina Harbor in Cape Coral called the SIM gallery.

Christina P. Wyatt Member Artist Christina P. Wyatt says she has a romantic fantasy about all her subjects...

"My intention is to bring to the canvas a connection for the viewer to that place where dreams live and poets speak." Her website is www.cpwyatt.com. You can see her work titled "Birds and Bamboo Series."

 


Clare CandeloriMember Artist Clare E. Candelori enjoys doing portraits of wildlife and people in acrylic. She has been honing her acrylic skills over the past 20 months, and her work can be found in private collections throughout the east coast.

Clare was recently juried into the International Society of Acrylic Painters 10th Annual Show in California and received a national award for her painting entitled “One Golden Slipper" (on right), which also won 1st place in the Artist’s Magazine in 2006. She was nominated for the 2007 Angels of the Arts “New Artist of the Year” and was chosen for “Woman of the Month” in FL Womens Networking website.

She has recently published a book of her selected paintings, which has been added to her line of fine art and continues to motivate many retirees like herself to pursue their life-long dreams in the arts. Clare will be opening a coop gallery with several other fine artists in the fall at the Cape Harbour Marina of shops entitled “Harbour View Gallery”. Stephanie BattistaStephanie Battista is an artist member and an Industrial Designer, based here in Ft. Myers, since age three. Graduated from Savannah College of Art & Design in 2002 with a BFA in Industrial Design. Started Laf, Inc. in 2003, which specializes in soft goods and print design. Her company was inspired by designing products for people who think outside of the box. Moss05 a footwear line that was just finished and released at the end of 2006 for men and women. This line is inspired by Being on the Move. We all have our stories, and our first season is about the casualness of life......it's about where we have been, where we are at, and where we are headed, footwear represents just that. Florene WelebnyMember Artist Florene Welebny has her work featured on the cover of the collier county Bar Association April newlsletter (photo at left titled "Sky on Fire"). In other news, through the month of March, Florene was the featured artist at commissioner Tammy Hall's office in downtown ft. Myers. Member Artist Gerard Damiano, AKA DJ Slinky, is back in South West Florida and available to Deejay your party or special event. He spins a wide range of musical styles, from American Songbook classics, to straight up Dance Music, and creates programs to suit any occasion.

He also works with Video Projections, and can add a multimedia element to any event with video projection, from different ambient background video loops, to something specifically designed for you. He can create a photo montage for your Birthday, Wedding, Anniversary, or any occasion, or project Powerpoint presentations for corporate meetings, and design multiple projector video installations for large events.

Member Artist Daniel Percivall has been a fixture on the Fort Myers art scene since he moved here in 2003, showing in locations such as Space 39. He looks forward to a new exhibit at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre gallery in 2007. He is a teacher of photography, woodwork, clay, and jewelry making.
