A Life Well-Written, Part II (Ages 18+)

In this three-session course, adult participants who have written a partial or completed first draft of their life stories will revise their manuscripts, creating individual memoirs that are clear, compelling, and complete.

With professional advice from an award-winning journalist and published author of memoirs, participants will work on an advanced edit that includes clarifying the overarching theme, structuring the plot, purging extraneous scenes, writing realistic dialogue, inserting flashbacks and backstory, using conflict to build tension, and bringing a memoir to a satisfying conclusion.  Participants will read aloud excerpts from their work for peer commentary and submit chapters for professional editing.  At the conclusion of the cours, they will be closer to completing a polished, engaging memoir that will be treasured for generations.

No class on 11/15.  Still a 3 class session.
