Tai Chi for Health and Balance (ages 16+)

Forms will be demonstrated then broken down into their component parts of foot placement, weight transfer, and arm and hand movements. As these gentle movements are reinforced by repetition, we will move through to the next form in the sequence of twenty. As the class moves together in a group the energy is shared.
Movement control is slow, smooth, and continuous building muscle strength as one moves with gentle resistance. The forms flow from one to another improving coordination, posture, balance, and confidence.
Practice to improve the muscle memory of each form then develops the synergy of mind and body improving focus, calming the mind, and loosening and relaxing the joints. Many people experience a feeling of increased Qi (Chi) that is internal energy and a more balanced and focused mental state.
These Sun Style moves are certified by the Center for Disease Control for fall prevention.
