Doris Carstens

Born in Austria into a family of artists, and growing up with a jewelry store, I went to art school earning a bachelor degree as Gold and Silver smith.

After finishing school I traveled to Capetown, South Africa, working as a jeweler to polish my skills.

In 1989 I moved to Miami, Florida, working there as a freelance artist, jeweler and also as energy field healer.

In 2003 my husband and I moved our family to a smaller community in Central Florida to raise our two children. I continued with art shows and earned a few prizes with handmade polymer beads, which are the wearable part of acrylic paintings.  In 2009 we finally settled down in Ft Myers, where I have worked as freelance artist and healer ever since.

I currently show my work at the ACSWF Gallery in Estero and exhibitions hosted by the Fine Craft Guild of SW Florida.
